How Brad’s ‘doing a Clooney’ with new love Ines
And is Britney really doing her son, 18, any favours with a $200k car?
Hey, it’s The Spotlight — your personal front-row seat for all the hottest showbiz stories. Here’s what’s happening…
Britney’s 18-year-old son gets back in touch, drives off in $200K Mercedes
Britney’s finally reunited with her sons – and playing catch-up in the most Britney way possible: dropping $200K (£147K) on a Mercedes for 18-year-old Jayden.
The teen, who’s rumoured to be determined to break into the music industry, appears to have reconnected with mom right after her child support payments ended. He’s now cruising LA in his new wheels while her circle shouts: ‘Red flag!’.
The 43-year-old has also been blasted for sharing a clip of her son using his phone while driving.
Her ex Kevin Federline got full custody of the couple’s two boys back in 2008, amid Brit’s very public mental health struggles and conservatorship. Now they’re back in touch, friends worry she could be exploited.
Meanwhile, Jayden's older brother Sean is keeping his distance in Hawaii, where Federline lives.
Sure, Britney’s only trying to ‘make up for lost time’, but when your kid gets a luxury car before he can legally drink, people are gonna talk.
Naomi Watts’s trans daughter Kai, 16: ‘I want to be a supermodel. Period.’
Liev Schrieber and Naomi’s trans daughter Kai just took a classic nepo-baby step – straight onto the runway at Paris Fashion Week.
The 16-year-old, who walked for Valentino, told Interview magazine she struggled ‘with gender identity from a young age' and ‘always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman’. Her inspo? Not her (very influential) mother Naomi, but Marilyn Monroe.
Bonus detail? She practised her walk in the kitchen for years (‘my mom has the videos’). Meanwhile, Liev’s playing proud dad, telling TMZ critics of her nepo privilege to back off (‘that's her life’) while praising her resilience.
Kai’s thoughts on the Valentino gig? ‘That job made me realise, “OK, this is what I want to do,” I want to be a supermodel. Period.’ Nice work if you can get it.
Harvey’s guilty again (and the jury’s in meltdown)
So Harvey Weinstein’s back in court for a retrial, and yeah, the jury found him guilty on one count of sexual assault from 2006 involving Miriam Haley.
But the disgraced film mogul was cleared on another, similar charge with model Kaja Sokola. And the jury’s still stuck on a count of third-degree rape of actress Jessica Mann.
Things got seriously heated in the jury room, with the judge telling them to ‘cool down’ after the foreman complained of ‘shouting and threats’.
The retrial was sparked when his 2020 NYC conviction was overturned. But he’s already serving 16 years for his convictions in a separate LA case.
Harvey, now 73, is keeping quiet and not testifying – but he’s sticking to ‘not guilty’.
We don’t know what to say about Sabrina Carpenter’s new album cover
Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend album cover features her on all fours with an anonymous man pulling her hair.
It’s giving 2013 Blurred Lines video and honestly, we’re not sure that’s a cultural moment we’re ready to revisit. Even with a woman in the driving seat this time.
We love her music — Espresso was a bop – and we know The Spotlight is giving auntie energy when we say this, but sometimes less is more, hon.
Why Brad Pitt’s girlfriend Ines is Amal Clooney 2.0 – and what it means for his family fallout
Is Brad Pitt doing a Clooney at 61? His divorce from A-list actress Angelina Jolie turned into a very public disaster.
But his new love, shiny French jewellery designer Ines de Ramon, 32, is clearly taking notes from another kind of leading lady: Amal Clooney.
Amal, the media darling human rights lawyer, and superstar husband George are the ultimate power couple – and The Spotlight hears Amal has taken Ines ‘under her wing’ after the couples bonded during a recent Venice double date.
‘They’ve been swapping style tips and life hacks ever since,’ an insider told us. ‘Ines admires Amal’s calm, controlled presence. It’s far from the old Brad circus.’
As for the circus? Things seem to go from bad to worse in Brad’s relationship with his six kids: missed graduations, radio silence on 18th birthdays, and half of them have dropped his last name.
Brad’s reportedly giving up on his sons Pax and Maddox altogether. Seems he’s after a fresh start, even if it means leaving some of his family behind.
Did fans just solve Glastonbury’s ‘secret set’ mystery?
Glastonbury’s biggest tease is back: the mysterious slot on Saturday night that’s given a fake name (laden with cryptic clues) in the line-up.
Fans are convinced they’ve cracked this year’s code: ‘Patchwork’ can only be Oasis, the warring brothers who’ve ‘patched things up’ for a new tour. (Shame Oasis have denied the rumours, but we’re still holding out a little hope).
Others are throwing around names like sister act Haim, Brit pop heroes Pulp, and even Harry Styles for the huge British festival which runs 25-29 June.
Just as long as it’s not Timothée Chalamet in character as Bob Dylan. Please no.
Beach Boys genius Brian Wilson dies at 82 after dementia battle
Sad news from California. Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys mastermind and the guy behind ‘God Only Knows’ and ‘Good Vibrations’, has died at 82. His kids confirmed it on Instagram, saying they’re ‘heartbroken’.
He’d been struggling with dementia and lost his wife Melinda last year.
From LSD-fuelled song-writing to inspiring the Beatles, Brian basically rewrote pop music. A complicated life, but what a legacy.
Shakira admits she used to slap on so much makeup because, well, confidence wasn’t exactly her thing back then.
Lily Allen ranking her friends by how much she likes them? Honestly, isn’t that just all of us?
Hailey Bieber had a gut feeling e.l.f. Beauty was the one (sorry, Justin). And who doesn’t trust their gut when it’s worth a cool billion?
Liam Payne’s Netflix show, with unseen footage of the late star, drops July 9. Fans are bracing themselves.
Mike Tyson posted an AI portrait of himself as a white man called ‘White Mike’… we’ll leave it there.
